It's amazing the number of articles I have read in recent days claiming "Hannibal is one of the best shows on TV". I feel privileged to have been able to watch such art. Season 2 was far superior to season 1 and season 1 was already insanely great. It was as if the therapist was snapping their fingers in front of your face to wake you up from the lull they put you under. When Hannibal says "See me", it was like the devil himself talking.

I felt like the ending pulled the viewer, ever so gently at first, into the reality of what a serial killer and cannibal really is. That said, overall it was a great finale. I really hope they take this into consideration next year. For me, it practically made the fight scene un-watchable. You can't hide forever, but something makes me think you're going to want to be found soon.įirst off, the soundtrack nearly ruined the first 3/4 of this episode. Freddy isn't just going to forget about you. Oh Hannibal.where are you going to go now. Hannibal just prefers rain, and a few select cutting knives. After all, you never know where allegiances lie unless you test people under fire. Maybe, the wool was pulled over our eyes, as to who is really dead, and who is really friends with who. the writers have deceived us on this pre conceived notion. We already know Hannibal is a sociopath and killer it's everyone else that is having to prove that truth. We assume we know all, because we see what goes on behind closed doors. It's a very, voyeuristic approach into what is going on in individuals lives. In cinema and television we tend to be the "third eye" in the room. To augment our version of the characters truths and realities. It made me start to wonder, maybe all of this- culmination of preceding events leading up to this Finale, have been for our viewing alone.
Was she in on it the entire time? Or has she been subjugated to friendship by the bonds of slavery, as Hannibal has done to all his former "Friends." It's become blatantly obvious that you don'y choose to be friends with Hannibal, he chooses you. The airplane soars into the air from takeoff, he's obviously headed to France but with- HIS THERAPIST? Blood coagulating on the floor of his many victims, Hannibal walks out of his Versailles palace out the door to wash his sins from his clothes, and step forward into a new chapter of his life. I couldn't help but giggle as to how literal that actually was. It was said in an interview that the final episode would feel like a plane that has risen to 30,000 feet and never actually landed. So much symbolism- I love the layers of this show. I think he viewed her as innocent and naive, and as he said "he arranged a way for them to part without ever having to see each other." But in the end, she became more of a sacrificial lamb, much like what Hannibal and Will partook in at their last supper. I found it interesting how Hannibal didn't want to kill one in particular. Many were shanked in tonight's episode, it remains unseen how many may actually live through the ordeal. My synopsis of the final episode *SPOILERs SPOILERs SPOILERSĪs if this show couldn't get any more artistic with the use of blood.
